Ruthenium, a hard and lustrous white metal, boasts a notable density of 12.30 g/cm³. It melts at a remarkable 2310°C and boils at 3900°C. Although pure ruthenium has limited applications, it is an exceptional hardener for platinum and palladium, ideal for crafting robust electrical contact alloys and enhancing hard grinding carbide.
