Description:
Cobalt is a lustrous steel-gray metal boasting a melting point of 1493°C and a specific gravity of 8.9. Known for its hardness and brittleness, cobalt is also ferromagnetic. Comparable to iron and nickel, it exhibits similar hardness, tensile strength, machinability, thermodynamic properties, and electrochemical behavior. Its magnetism, however, vanishes when heated to 1150°C.
