Tungsten is a rare metal with an exceptionally high melting point of 3410 ± 20°C and a boiling point of 5660°C, the highest among all metals. It belongs to Group VIB in the sixth period of the periodic table. With a silver-white, steel-like appearance, tungsten possesses a high melting point, low vapor pressure, and minimal evaporation rate. Chemically stable, it does not react with air or water at room temperature and remains insoluble in hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and alkali solutions. Aqua regia can only oxidize its surface. At high temperatures, tungsten can combine with elements like ***, ***, iodine, carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur, but it does not react with hydrogen.
