Metal Ruthenium, a robust and lustrous white metal, boasts a density of 12.30 g/cm³. It presents a melting point of 2310°C and a boiling point of 3900°C, making it an exceptional catalyst for hydrogenation, isomerization, oxidation, and reforming reactions. Although pure metal ruthenium finds limited uses, it serves as a remarkable hardener for platinum and palladium. These unique attributes make it essential in fabricating electrical contact alloys and hard grinding carbides, among other specialized applications.
