Description: Boron relative density: 2.350. Melting point: 2300ºC. Boiling point: 3658ºC. It exhibits weak conductivity at room temperature but transforms into an excellent conductor at elevated temperatures. The addition of trace amounts of carbon significantly enhances its conductivity. Upon oxidation in air, a protective diboron trioxide film forms, providing a crucial limiting function. However, at temperatures surpassing 1000°C, this oxide layer evaporates.
