Vanadium stands out for its electrical conductivity and thermal insulation properties, boasting greater hardness than most metals, including steel. It excels in corrosion resistance and maintains stability when exposed to alkalis, and both sulfuric and hydrochloric acids. Moreover, vanadium begins to oxidize in air at approximately 933 K (660 °C, 1220 °F), with the protective oxide layer forming even at room temperature.
