Description:

Tungsten is a rare metal known for its extremely high melting point of 3410 ± 20°C and a boiling point of 5660°C, the highest among metals. As a member of the VIB group in the sixth period of the periodic table, tungsten is a silver-white metal reminiscent of steel. It boasts a high melting point, low vapor pressure, and minimal evaporation rate. Tungsten's chemical properties are remarkably stable; it does not react with air or water at room temperature and resists dissolution in hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and alkaline solutions. Aqua regia can only oxidize its surface. At elevated temperatures, tungsten can combine with elements like ***, ***, iodine, carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, but not hydrogen.
