Description:
Tungsten is an extraordinary metal known for its extremely high melting point of 3410 ± 20 degrees Celsius and a boiling point of 5660 degrees Celsius, the highest among metals. As a member of the VIB group in the sixth period of the periodic table, tungsten exhibits steel-like, silver-white appearance. Its exceptional properties include a high melting point, low vapor pressure, and minimal evaporation rates. Tungsten's chemical stability is remarkable; it remains inactive with air and water at room temperature and resists dissolution in hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and alkali solutions. Although aqua regia can oxidize its surface, tungsten can only react with ***, ***, iodine, carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, etc., at elevated temperatures, excluding hydrogen.
