Tungsten, a rare metal with an exceptionally high melting point of 3410 ± 20 degrees Celsius, and an extraordinary boiling point of 5660 degrees Celsius, stands as the metal with the highest boiling point. Positioned within the VIB group in the sixth period (the second longest period) of the periodic table, tungsten is a silver-white metal resembling steel. Noteworthy for its high melting point, low vapor pressure, and minimal evaporation rate, tungsten's chemical properties are remarkably stable. It remains unreactive with air and water at room temperature and is insoluble in hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and alkaline solutions. Even aqua regia can only oxidize its surface. At elevated temperatures, tungsten can combine with ***, ***, iodine, carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, among others, but it does not react with hydrogen.
