To combat this issue, an innovative solution proposes adding an adhesive layer between the gold thin film and silicon wafers. Although pure nickel is commonly employed for this adhesive layer, diffusion between the nickel and gold conductive layers still occurs, necessitating the implementation of a barrier layer to inhibit further diffusion.
