With a melting point of 2950°C and a density of 5.43-5.44g/cm³, it boasts a Mohs hardness of 8-9 and exceptional thermal shock resistance. TiN's melting point exceeds that of most transition metal nitrides, yet its density is lower than most metal nitrides, making it a unique heat-resistant material.
