Tungsten, a rare metal with a melting point of 3410±20°C, and a boiling point of 5660°C, stands out with the highest boiling point among metals. Positioned in the VIB group of the periodic table, tungsten is a robust silver-white metal with steel-like characteristics. Its notable properties include a high melting point, low vapor pressure, and low evaporation rate. Tungsten's chemical stability is exceptional-it remains inert in air and water at room temperature, and is insoluble in hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and alkaline solutions. Only aqua regia can oxidize its surface. At elevated temperatures, tungsten can react with ***, ***, iodine, carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur, but not with hydrogen.
