The main components of ferronickel are nickel and iron, with trace impurity elements such as Cr, Si, S, P, and C. Nickel is completely soluble in γ-iron, with a 10% solubility in α-iron. According to international ISO standards, ferronickel is categorized into FeNi20 (Ni 15%~25%), FeNi30 (Ni 25%~35%), FeNi40 (Ni 35%~45%), and FeNi50 (Ni 45%~60%). It is further sub-classified into high carbon (C 1.0%~2.5%), medium carbon (C 0.030%~1.0%), and low carbon (C < 0.030%).<0.03%); low phosphorus (P <0.02%) and high phosphorus (P <0.030 %)Ferronickel.

The melting point of Nickel-Iron (NiFe) ranges from 1430-1480 degrees Celsius, with a density between 8.1-8.7 g/cm³. This alloy is known for its low-frequency soft magnetic properties, featuring low coercivity and high magnetic permeability in weak magnetic fields. Initially used in telephone communications, Nickel-Iron alloys have seen enhanced properties through heat treatment and vacuum melting production methods.
Nickel-Iron alloys containing 78% Ni exhibit a permeability 10 to 20 times greater than silicon steel in weak magnetic fields. They are extensively used in sensitive relays, magnetic shielding, telephone and radio transformers, precision AC and DC instruments, and current transformers. By incorporating elements such as molybdenum, manganese, cobalt, copper, and chromium, we can produce ternary or quaternary nickel-iron alloys with higher initial and maximum magnetic permeability.
The high-purity nickel and iron used in Xinkang's NiFe sputtering targets are melted under vacuum conditions, ensuring purity levels of 3N5 or higher. For customers with specialized requirements, we also offer mass production of high-purity nickel-iron targets with a purity of 4N.
