-Nickel-chromium alloys are also widely used in the vacuum coating industry as raw materials for magnetron sputtering coatings. -Commonly used in cutting tools; forms a corrosion-resistant alloy layer on the surface of steel or iron by sputtering, deposition, and high-temperature diffusion.
-Nickel-chromium alloys can also be used to make laboratory resistors. -High-resistance electric heating alloys (high-nickel and iron-chromium-aluminum), high-temperature alloys, precision alloys, heat-resistant alloys, special alloys, stainless steel, etc. are all common and commonly used nickel-chromium alloys.
The hard material coatings chromium (Cr) and chromium nitride (CrN) optimally protect engine components such as piston rings,to against premature wear and consequently extend the useful life of important engine parts. Chromium is also used as a bonding layer for DLC coatings (Diamond Like Carbon), for example on bucket tappets.
