Erbium, bearing the element symbol Er and atomic number 68, is nestled in the 6th period of the periodic table and holds the 11th position in the Lanthanide series (IIIB group). This silver-white metal boasts an atomic weight of 167.26, a melting point of 1529°C, and a boiling point of 2863°C, with a substantial density of 9.006 g/cm³. Erbium exhibits antiferromagnetic properties at low temperatures, transforms into a strongly ferromagnetic state near absolute zero, and is notable for being a superconductor.
