Description:
Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is a sophisticated black solid powder known for its striking metallic luster. With a melting point of 1185ºC and a density of 4.80g/cm3 (at 14ºC), it boasts a Mohs hardness rating between 1.0 and 1.5. At 1370ºC, it starts to decompose, ultimately transforming into metal molybdenum and sulfur at 1600ºC. When exposed to air at 315°C, it begins to oxidize, and this oxidation process intensifies as the temperature increases, making it a pivotal material for high-temperature applications.
